Understanding the Issue and Solution for Gordon FMO Statements
The Issue
Gordon provides commission statements in a “running total” format. This means each statement includes the new month’s commissions as well as all commissions from previous months. Unlike most carriers and FMOs that provide statements containing only the commission data for the specific month, Gordon’s format can lead to overlapping data when processed.
What Most Carriers and FMOs Do
Most carriers and FMOs provide monthly statements that exclusively detail commissions for that specific month, avoiding data duplication.
The Solution
When processing Gordon FMO statements in ComTrack each month:
- Delete the previously digested rows from your dataset.
- Then, upload the new statement into ComTrack.
This ensures only the most recent data is included and prevents duplication.
Why This Matters
If you don’t follow this process:
- ComTrack will process (“Digest”) the same data multiple times, resulting in duplicate entries.
- Duplicate entries lead to inaccurate commission records, which can cause confusion and errors in reporting.
By deleting old data before digesting new statements, you maintain clean and accurate records in ComTrack.
